People often think that the Board Members ARE the PTG. But, every parent, guardian and staff member is automatically a member of the David Lubin PTG. There are no fees or requirements to attend meetings. Just get involved, volunteer and provide feedback.

Meet your 2024-2025 PTG Board Members
Kate Buehler – PTG President
I am currently a stay at home mom; however prior to children, I was part of the medical field – specifically optometry. I am originally from the Central Coast, having attended Cal Poly, SLO for college and moved to Sacramento in 2010 for an incredible career opportunity – which in turn led to me meeting my husband and starting our family!
I absolutely love to travel, see new things and gain new perspectives. I have a passion for art, architecture and history and love sharing all of those with my family. We love to be outside and adventurous, laugh and play board games, and try new foods!

Beverly Garber – PTG Vice President
I work as a nurse practitioner.
I was raised in Monterey and Woodland, CA and we have been in Sacramento for the last 15 years.
My family loves camping, road trips and walks in the neighborhood with our dog, Scout!

Gary Ashley – PTG Treasurer
I work as a photographer. I am also going to school to learn American Sign Language.
I am from San Diego, CA and we enjoy having friends over for dinner and playing in the backyard.

Melissa Cronin – PTG Meeting Administrator (aka Parliamentarian)
I am originally from San Jose and went to Chico State where I met my husband, David.
We moved to Sacramento and have been here ever since.
We love keeping busy with sports, camping and traveling.

Kyra Welch – PTG Secretary
My day jobs include working from home as a program manager for a tech company and a coach at Instaphysique. Originally from Olympia, Washington, I moved to Sacramento in 2014 with my daughter.
Our family enjoys making popcorn (from scratch), exploring Sacramento, hiking, and playing video games, like Mario Kart and Boomerang-Foo.

Caroline Dunivant – Communications Coordinator and East Sac Garden Tour Chair
I’m a Creative Director with a background in Experiential Design and Brand Development.
We’ve lived across the California coast but love our time here in Sacramento.
Our family loves sports, travel and always up for an adventure.

Pedro Peterson – PTG Member-at-Large
I am an urban planner by training and currently work for the state at the intersection of land use, transportation, and climate policy.
I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I came to the US in high school and have lived in New Hampshire, Atlanta, Montana, and California (Bay Area
and Sacramento).
I love making pizza and traveling with my family.

LaTisha Johnson – PTG Member-at-Large
I work in the mental health field, I am Black Parent Advocate for education, mental health and autism. I have my BA in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing. I consult and support small businesses as a “think partner” to brand themselves and get their business off the ground. I also teach Bible studies at Sunday school and facilitate support groups with NAMI SF.
I am from Oakland, CA.
I love to watch movies, be outdoors, go to the beach, road trips & travel.

Rebecca Leece – PTG Member-at-Large
I’m a doctor in the Sutter Sacramento ER, but I worked in education for more than 10 years before I went to med school. I’m originally from Cleveland, and also lived for 15 years in NYC. Our family likes to cook (and eat), read, and go swimming.

Katie Riley – PTG Member-at-Large
I am a Digital Content Manager for the California Department of Water Resources, but my first job is mom to Riley and Sophie. Growing up in the Sacramento area, graduating from St. Francis High School and Sac State University, I have grown a fondness for the community that encompasses David Lubin Elementary. Travel and adventure are a passion for our family and I look forward to the road ahead serving on the PTG board.
